RESILIENCE- A food for thought!

RESILIENCE

Currently their is a lot of negative chatter about the chaos of our communities, states, country, and world.  We are hearing and seeing so much negativity. The Covid-19 Pandemic, and Presidential Elections have not brought out our best as people.  We are often left having so many unresolved feelings that we do not know how to channel.   When chaos happens in a person’s life it can often cause a person to be imbalanced.  We often see negativity, lack of patience,  lack of  self control over our feelings in understanding that we often look at things only through our  eyes and not  the eyes of others.    Uncertain times means navigating changes in our life that we sometimes can't control.  So how do we keep ourselves healthy, optimistic, patient, loving and humble in a time that is so self serving and chaotic?

 Resilience Circles

It is important to connect with people who lift you up and point you in the right direction, when you feel like you are on a runaway Ferris Wheel that won’t stop.   We all need “Resilience Circles” in our life.  Search these people out in your communities and across the world.  Sometimes it is our friends and family that are right in front of us.  Look for “those” people that always seem to be optimistic (always displaying positive-ness and hope).  Look for “those” people that always seem to work through various struggles of life and are still helpful, kind and approachable.  Look for “those” people that help you see hope, goodness and peace in the troublesome times of your life.  I love hearing the testimonies and stories of others that always seemed to not give up on during their life trials even when the outcome is not what they expected.   Surrounding yourself with optimistic and energetic people  can become great tools of perseverance for our own life.   Often people let their stories define who they are and they get stuck instead of allowing their story to open the doorway to learning perseverance,  humbleness, optimism and wisdom.  What is important to remember is that we are not alone.  I always try to remember that the person next to me, on more occasions that not, has had a tougher life than mine.  Just getting to know them may help me search out the answers that I couldn’t find for myself.

Trying to do it on our own and without support may leave you feeling like you're in a ditch by yourself.  Surrounding yourself with people of optimism, understanding, humbleness, determination may helps you through your rough chapter and ultimately help you to open a new and  healthier chapter.  How often have you heard the words… or say the words, “I don’t need anyone!”   Life is built upon history.   We need to hear and feel the historical stories of others.  We need to absorb those stories and take the good parts and use them as a compass to guide our own lives.  The thing that I think is so significant about this moment in our world is that becoming a more positive, kind, humble determined person starts with me and it starts with you.

How To Find Inner Peace In Everyday Life

How to Find Your Inner Peace and Happiness Like many other concepts, there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to finding inner peace. However, all of the points provided here would prove effective in your journey to finding it. Use these steps to find inner peace: 1. Declutter Your “Room” As mentioned earlier, your mind can be likened to a room. When that room is occupied with thoughts of “what if” and “how not” plus work issues and family matters, there is no way you’d have enough space to do other things. This would take lots of practice and patience with oneself because you can’t just tell yourself, “Hey, stop thinking” and boom! You just stop. You have to consciously remind yourself to not overthink things and only take what you can handle. Even the bravest people break down, so take some time to clear your mind of unimportant matters. You need that space. 2. Take Responsibility for Your Actions It takes a whole level of maturity to take responsibility for your actions, es...

The important Things Life Teaches You...

During my second month of nursing school, our professor gave us a pop quiz.  I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?  Surely this was some kind of joke.  I had seen the cleaning woman a dozen of times. She was tall, dark haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name?  I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank.  Before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.  "Absolutely," said the professor.  "In your career you will meet many people. All are significant.  They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello." I've never for...
